This handcrafted Bidriware dancing peacock turns a classic Indian motif into a striking piece of table art. The sculpted bird rises from a round pedestal, framed by a bold, scalloped fan‑tail whose surface is alive with fine silver feather‑eye patterns that shimmer against the deep black metal.

Artisans in Bidar, Karnataka, cast the form in a zinc–copper alloy, engrave each feather and inlay it with pure silver before oxidising the piece with Bidar’s unique soil to achieve the signature black‑and‑silver contrast of Bidriware. Place this peacock on mantels, consoles or pooja shelves as a radiant focal point, or choose it as a thoughtful gift for those who appreciate handcrafted décor that blends cultural symbolism with contemporary elegance.

Product Details
Craft form: Traditional Bidriware metal handicraft from Bidar, Karnataka, India.

Material: Zinc–copper alloy base with pure silver wire inlay forming stylised feather and lattice motifs across the large circular tail.

Design: Standing peacock mounted on a round pedestal, with a scalloped fan‑shaped tail spread out behind it, filled with radiating feather‑eye motifs that emphasise the bird’s regal posture.

Finish: Deep matte black oxidised surface that makes the silver feather patterns appear crisp and luminous.

Utility: Ideal as a tabletop accent for living rooms, pooja shelves, consoles and work desks; also an auspicious gift symbolising beauty, joy and prosperity.

Crafting process: Hand‑cast and shaped, then engraved with feather designs before silver wire is inlaid, polished and finally oxidised using special Bidar Fort soil that turns the alloy black while preserving the silver sheen.

Heritage value: Showcases a 16th‑century Deccan metal inlay tradition, with peacock motifs often used to demonstrate the craft’s ability to capture fine, radiating feather details.

Care instructions: Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth; avoid moisture, abrasives and harsh chemicals. An occasional light oil buff helps maintain the rich black tone and bright silver inlay.
